  • The difference? It’s not the horse. It’s not even the skill.
    It’s what the brain is making it mean.

That’s where hypnosis comes in.

By working with the subconscious — the part of your brain that runs your habits, fears, and automatic reactions — hypnosis allows us to gently rewrite old beliefs and create new, empowering patterns. So you can ride with calm, confidence, and the enjoyment you imagined when you first got into horses.

FAQs About Hypnosis for Riders

What does hypnosis actually feel like?

Like your favourite kind of rest — but purposeful. You stay aware the whole time, just deeply relaxed. Most riders say they feel clearer, lighter, and calmer afterwards. You’re never out of control — just in a state where change happens more easily.

Will I be unconscious or ‘under’?

Not at all. You won’t be asleep, and you won’t lose awareness. You’ll hear everything I say and can speak or move if you choose to. Hypnosis simply quiets the overthinking part of your brain so we can work with the part that actually holds the fear.

What if I can’t be hypnotised?

Hypnosis is a natural state that everyone experiences daily — like when you’re lost in thought or daydreaming. If you can follow simple guidance and allow yourself to relax, you can be hypnotised.

Is it weird or woo-woo?

Not in the way people often think. While it feels relaxing, the process is grounded in science — backed by neuroscience, used by athletes, and widely studied. There’s nothing mystical — just practical tools to help your brain let go of unhelpful patterns.

Are sessions online or in person?

Most sessions are delivered online via Zoom, so you can access hypnosis from the comfort of your own home (and still get exactly the same results).
